Curry Kennedy, PhD
Rhetoric | Religion | Renaissance
This website showcases my work as a scholar and teacher of rhetoric.
My research explores how religion and rhetoric have collided and combined across history. My current book project asks how religion and rhetorical education interanimated in Early Modern England.
My teaching assumes that reading great texts, honing rhetorical skills, and gaining wisdom for public advocacy are complementary endeavors. I teach in the tradition of the Renaissance humanists and John Dewey by developing lessons that stem from the experience and aptitudes of my students.
In my podcasts and videos, I mine three millennia of rhetorical wisdom to help popular audiences imagine and aspire to a culture of wise, just, and passionate argumentation.
